₦4.2 billion in capital allocation supports the second phase of laboratory construction.
The Federal Ministry of Defence has confirmed ₦4.2 billion in 2026 capital allocation for DIT facilities — funding the second phase of the institute's laboratory and workshop construction programme.
The allocation includes the Mechatronics Engineering laboratory complex (foundation stone laid in May), the Foundry Technology finishing bay extension, and an extended PCB lab for Computer Engineering.
A letter dated 3 March from the National Board for Technical Education — reference TEB/NTIRD/PA/881/VOL.I/2 — formally cleared the institute to begin operations ahead of the 2026/27 session.
The 2,400 m² facility will host robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics and control-systems teaching labs serving over 240 students at full capacity.
