About the Institute

An institution built for a defining decade.

Home About
Our story

DICON Institute of Technology was established in 2024 to address an enduring national priority: the development of skilled technical manpower for Nigeria's defence industry and the broader manufacturing economy.

Situated on DIC Road in Kakuri, Kaduna South, the institute occupies a setting that has been central to Nigeria's industrial story for more than half a century. It is affiliated with the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), whose plants and workshops have produced strategic equipment for the Armed Forces since 1964.

Our academic units are organised into four schools and eight departments, each oriented toward the practical realities of working production environments: laboratory craft, workshop discipline, materials handling, and the operational rigour expected of defence-grade work.
