How DIT admission works

Admission to ND programmes is via UTME or Direct Entry. Admission to HND is via continuation from a DIT ND, or via DE for ND holders from other NBTE-accredited polytechnics. BSc programmes are a future plan; the institute currently offers ND and HND only.

Eligibility

  • DIT must be selected as the candidate's first choice on JAMB.
  • UTME candidates must meet the minimum score for their chosen course (per JAMB Brochure subject combinations).
  • Direct Entry candidates must hold a recognised post-secondary qualification (see Pathway 02 above) with a minimum of Lower Credit at ND or HND, or Merit at NCE.
  • Five O-Level credits including Mathematics and English Language, in subjects relevant to the chosen course, at no more than two sittings.
  • Candidates who do not meet the requirements for their chosen course may switch to another course whose requirements they do meet.

How to apply

  1. 01

    Register with JAMB

    Register for UTME or Direct Entry at jamb.gov.ng during the JAMB registration window for the 2026/27 cycle.

  2. 02

    Select DIT as your first choice

    Choose DICON Institute of Technology with our institution code [to be confirmed] when you complete your JAMB registration.

  3. 03

    Sit UTME or submit DE documents

    UTME candidates sit the JAMB examination. DE candidates upload supporting credentials (A-Level, IJMB, JUPEB, NABTEB Advanced, ND/HND, NCE) through the JAMB portal.

  4. 04

    Check your admission status here

    Once JAMB releases results and DIT publishes its admission list, check your status on this website under Admissions → Check status, using your JAMB number and surname. Admitted candidates can create their student account from there.
